The 2nd Annual "Christmas Angel's Handout" an even bigger success than the last!

First off,
I just have to say how proud of our team I am. All of our little Christmas Angels raised in total: $1,436 dollars this year! That means we DOUBLED the $700 we raised the year before. Give yourself a big pat on the back ;) We also had dozens of sweaters, Jackets, Beanies, Scarves and blankets donated. We had five generous bakers donate their time and expertise and provide baked goodies for our recipeants. This year we were able to put together 40 toiletry bags (gender specific.) In them we included; Baby wipes, a large toothpaste, toothbrush, floss, deodorant, Q-tips, chapstick, brush, lotion, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, three pairs of socks, gloves a beanie, kleenex, feminine products & hair ties for the ladies and a bag of chips & a candy cane for a special treat. We were also able to purchase crates of bottled water to pass out. Thank Jesus for The Dollar Tree is all I have to say ;) With the remainder of the money, we were able to purchase umbrellas & the fan favorite: $5 Jack-in-the box gift cards. The amount of "helpers" this year was truly profound and touching. With everyone that donated, helped purchase, tithed, put together bags, helped sort clothes, baked, drove and passed out we had over 35 people help out. That's amazing! I hope each of you felt rewarded and proud of yourselves for all of the selfless effort you put into making our 2nd handout a success. Everyone we passed items out to, talked with and gave encouragement to will surly remember your kindness for years to come if not for a lifetime. For some, this is the only "Christmas" they will experience. For that one night, they are brought a little happiness, an expression of generosity and most importantly hope.

Until next year my angels, Merry Christmas. -Candace Pierce
